Benny Figgins Retires from Dealing at Caesars Palace after 55 Years
Figgins was the last remaining employee from the first year of operation, 55 years ago, and had dealt at the blackjack tables for a whopping 51 years
Earlier this month, Caesars Palace announced that its longest-serving employee had retired. Benny Figgins was the last remaining employee from the first year of operation, 55 years ago, and had dealt at the blackjack tables for a whopping 51 years.
Rubbing Shoulders with the Stars As you can imagine, after 55 years of service in a casino Benny Figgins has seen a lot and also met many of the world?s rich and famous. He has dealt blackjack to the likes of Henry Belafonte, Frank Sinatra, Joe Louis, Sammy Davis Jr., Diana Ross, and no doubt many more names that we would recognise.
Figgins took up employment at Caesars Palace on April 27, 1967 and held four different positions before transferring to the gaming floor in 1971 where he would remain until retiring from service on August 31.
It was here where he would soon meet his future wife and mother of his three children.
In a statement, Caesars Palace said:
?In celebration of his 55+ years of service at the resort, Figgins received a grand send-off fit for a Caesar. At the conclusion of his final shift, Caesars Palace team members and Caesars Entertainment leadership sent Figgins on his way through the resort?s main entrance with good wishes and cheers.
